We learned to fly at the same time, same airport, same instructor. He was a fine guy and a good friend. I will never forget working with Hink on the Texas City disaster on his ham radio for about 18 hours the day it happened. We relayed messages from the site. This was a terrible disaster and many were killed and injured. Ham radio was probably the only channel of communication open for some time. Hink and I stuck to our guns to get many sad messages through. I am proud to be numbered among Hink's friends and I thank all of you for remembering him in this way. God Bless Henry Savage.
